FINAL BLOG..

This class is OVER. I feel so relieved and yet SO stressed out. The final was waaay too chaotic and there was too much to do. I am more stressed out for this final more than any other final .. Anyways, this class was fun when it came to photoshop and learning new applications on the computer. The work load was overly abundant, even in the final. I cannot get over that, this is the first time I have ever left a final without being finished.. I feel like I failed, even though I worked as much and as fast as I could. The low marks are gonna be flowing in. I dont really have anything else to say but that. Im sorry for the poor review but seriously.
I enjoy these computer classes but ones that I can finish at the end. I enjoyed using photoshop and using my talent.

Blog 17!

Well, unless we have to blog next week before of during our final, this is the last blog ...
WEOO.
Excitement.
This week we worked on our book, our flash book. I think im getting the hang of flash but I'll never have to use it again. Typical, anyways, my book is looking good and sorta working good. My buttons and page change do not want to work properly, but thats all right. Hopefully I will not lose marks for that.  I chose to count food. Fruit to be exact.
Well, we had a mass on Thursday and I got my RealCare Baby3 On thursday after the mass and I still have it today. How FUN. Not really, it let me sleep through the night, thank goodness.. but it was unbelievably fussy before that. Today, so far, it has been good but that could change. Oh well, babies are babies.


I dont know what else to blog about .... Other than im nearly done grade 12.. done with this class and this school. Im gonna miss this school, a lot. It has helped me grow as a person and face my fears.

Blog 16!

BLOG 16. ONE OF MY LAST BLOGS FOR THIS CLASS.
Anyways, grad was fab-u-lous. Thats right. Pulled up in a semi and OWNED it. Best entrance I must say myself. Mrs. Paez said in 26 years she's never seem a semi. :) Im proud of myself. I feel like  I made history.
Anyway, Monday I was not here, for various reasons.  Tuesday we worked on out flash assignments and I finished it, Wednesday I just added on the music and WALLAH. Finished. A horrible piece of animation put together because I am not animation/flash talented. Once again, I love photoshop. I am skilled in photoshop.
Thursday I started adding more into my Eportfolio. Wooooooo... Eportfolios. Ha!
I added in some videos and some typed information about extremely detailed descriptions of my intensely described descriptive videos. What?
Monday we are apparently starting a book. A childrens book. Hopefully I remember to count to 10.. I don't wanna teach a kid how to count wrong.

Blog 15!

WOW! it is week 15! This week has been an .. interesting one. Monday I decided to faint in Ethics and made a scene. Tuesday I spent all day at a doctors getting examined because i have not fainted before. Wednesday and Thursday I finished my animation and now I have to add in music to it. Animation is not my thing but I got 'r done! I sure did. Anyways, Friday morning, today, I got blood taken. YAY.. no.. but so far I am alright. Today a lady came and judged our birthright videos. GRAD IS TOMORROW :'( I dont know what to do with myself. Yesterday I was just in preschool .. oh they grow up so fast!

Week 14!

Well, this was a short week! Only by one day, but thats more than alright. My long weekend was great, I went camping up by Hudson Bay and relaxed. :)  This weekend we started our animations ... oh help me. Its not my favourite thing to do and I really dont understand how to do all of it but I shall learn again ... lol. Anyways, I've been trying to figure out what type of animation I am going to complete for my assignment, all I know is that I may not get it handed in, in time. Im slooooww moving when it comes to animation. On Tuesday I get RealCare Baby.. yay. Beware, can't wait for a crying baby.. a doll. On the bright side, I got a call from staples on thursday. I am hired :D yay. I have an orientation next thursday. YAY.

Blog/Week 14!

This week has seemed to last forever.. to the point that its been really irritating. The class has been annoying this week too. Anyways, this week I got my Eportfolio put together and all my links linked. I started putting assignments on my graphic design page and so far so good. Just have to add in the summaries/descriptions of each one. Also, I finished a BirthRight audio assignment .. then found out I did the wrong one... so I re did another one and handed it in. On Wednesday we had a presenter stop by. He did not have anything planned out but he did well. He talked about making videos and life in the industry and it was informational, mostly for Spencer though. I didnt have any questions to ask. Even about photographing. I did find out though, that a local photographer in Regina is willing to take me on for some experience over the summer. That should be enjoyable. :)

Blog 13!

This week we got our Eportfolios figured out .. I also finished my Juno video, Backstage video and some other things that I cannot remember right now .. I got a lot accomplished though. This week has been long ... and boring. Just an overall blah week. Hopefully next week will be be better. Anyways, when it comes to the Eportfolio it'll get easier to figure out .. what? There's so much to learn and use to make it work. Stresssssss.
Anyways, I worked on my BirthRight video and made a song yay. I'd say im done ... maybe, i'll decide later. I may make a new one just to see if I can do better. BirthRight is a good company. uhm. Thats about all I have to say.

Week 12!

Today is week 12. It is friday, like every other week, we blog on Friday.
This week we finished our templates for our website. I thought that was enjoyable and fun to do. I do very well enjoy using photoshop. I also finished my resume for applying for a media job. This week on Tuesday I also went to the food bank and worked with the grade nines on there retreat. That was fun and I always enjoy volunteering. We also had a presentation from people from Access 7! That presentation was quite informational and it opened my mind to the options they offer.

Week 11!

Well, I should feel more accomplished this week but I don't. Monday we worked on our infomercial and got it completed. I also finished my robot rumble movie and I guess I have to redo my behind the scenes for the infomercials. I thought it was pretty good and funny but not exactly what I was supposed to do .. I also set up my website and started to create my template for it. Thursday I tried to get Paul McCartney tickets, but nothing. I am trying again for a second presale. Hopefully I luck out.

Week 10!

It's a little late, I forgot. Anyways, the past week we did editing on our infomercial, that's stressful. We also went to the u of r and covered the Juno event taking place there. It was quite interesting and I did learn a few things. One guy even told me that country music fans are the most dedicated ... Duh. :) basically that's it. I have to learn how to do my e portfolio. There's a lot of stuff to do and I'm not looking forward to it.

Week 9!

Okay. So today I am hyper. Monday I was not at school because I was sleeping because I recently returned from Europe. Spain and France were great but Spain was my absolute favourite. I got a tan while sitting on the beach. Anyways, Tuesday I returned and went and covered Pink Shirt Day for the morning. I wore a orange shirt, on Wednesday I wore a pink shirt. Thursday I had my first full day of school. We worked on our video and kinda started editing, it's gonna take a little bit of work. And today, Friday. We are in the green screen room and a group is trying to fill. Hopefully the other groups get some progress done.

E-portfolio Hunt

E-Portfolio Hunt:

The first eportfolio I view was the one provided to me. This portfolio was straight forward and easy to navigate. On the main page the creator shows us small parts of his work that links to the topics page but also has the navigation bar along the side to go to exactly what you're looking for. I think the Portfolio was well out together but I do not like how plain it looks. I like the designs beside each of the topics in the navigation bar, but I think the overall appearance of it is kinda bland to me, but I guess thats just all about opinion. But overall it works and it is easy to use!

--> This E-portfolio has very good work on put on the website and the creator is very talented. The only downfall I found on the site is how it loads. Examples of her work are slightly covered with white lines. I thought the page had not finished loaded until I moved the mouse over the photos. I think that her work could have been portrayed a lot better, making it easier to view and see. Navigation was easy, you could click on each image or use the navigation bar up a long the top to view what you like. The main topics along the top then changed into a drop down bar and allowed you to see each project exactly. I liked the whole white and clean look of the portfolio, but once again did not like the white covering of the art. I think the creations with out white covering would have made the portfolio more eye catching and entertaining to view.

--> I personally really like this E Portfolio! I love the colour that he has used. It is was more colourful than the one provided to me, and way more eye catching. The colour was not overwhelming or hard to look at. It is my style! It portrays excitement and happiness but also her overall creativity. On the page there is a navigation bar that takes you to everything you want to see, and a little side bar pops out with more to read. On the left side of the page she has options to keep in contact with her and see what she is  doing. I clicked on on the portfolio button and viewed her work. Along the top of this new page you can click on what you exactly want to see and the page takes you down the the area you clicked on. Very convenient! You can also click on the small images of of her work to expand them to see them in greater detail.

Week 8!

Week 8!:
Well, I had to post my blog today on Wednesday because we don't have school Friday and I am leaving for Europe on Thursday, tomorrow, at 12:50 pm! I am kinda scared but not too excited yet. I've never travelled to the other side of the world before. It is definitely going to be a new experience and become something that is going to shape who I am. Anyways, we also had Tuesday off because of parent teacher conferences. Two day week for me! Monday we worked on our E portfolio assignments and I have been searching for other peoples eportfolios and examining them. Now, today. Wednesday, we are also working on the E portfolio assignments. Well, hopefully when I get back from Europe I will have enough time to edit our infomercial and get the rest of this assignment done.

Week 7!

This week was basically full of non-accomplished work. Monday I went to the job find event at the conexus arts centre, that was a flop. The jobs were not suitable for a high school student. Other days this week we worked on our copy right assignments and went into St. Peter to film our infomercial. That was also a flop! My group was not ready and others were not ready. Friday we finally got into the filming room to try and get ours done, hopefully all goes well. This week I am going out of town if the roads are safe!

I POSTED THIS ON FRIDAY BUT IT DIDNT WORK FROM MY PHONE SO I JUST RE DID IT TODAY AND NOW IT WORKS. OOPS.

The Art of Web Design:

Things I have learned:

- People come to websites for content, they like to update and know what everyone else is up to. So they decided to put the contact/updating bar first.
- You have to start thinking about how your visitors are going to navigate around your page or website, it has to be easy to see and do.
- How you place your information should resemble importance and meaning.
- Contrast and colour: Your colour can draw attention to your website but sometimes too much colour may have too much contrast. Such as a bright yellow background or a multicoloured background may be too busy/hard on the eyes. The visitor will not know where to focus.
- Fonts: Something such as a title or headline must be bolder and larger than the rest because thats what they developer wants the visitor to read first.
- Features: Offer features such as, a website that gives you options. Such as, colour, size or texture on a clothing website.
- Design is about SERVING PEOPLES NEEDS! :)

Week 6!

We've been finishing up copyright and moving on. We also adjusted our story boards and got a start there. Also, we had a presentation from a girl from the art institute of Vancouver. Each presentation has been different and exciting! I always get interested in going to that school but it's too far away for me to attend. I like being near to home. :) so on Friday we started filming.. I guess. Our actors could not make it and part of our group was not there. So bad start to our infomercial. Hopefully it's better next week...

Week 5!

Not much happened this week! We met our interns, they seem nice. I finally for started on the copy right assignment and that sure is fun ... I'm still managing to use the good reader app, it's kinda tricky and touchy. Uhm. We also planned out our infomercial and got into our groups. Mat and I had been previously in a good to create a movie, so hopefully all goes well. That's about it .. I think. I ate some frozen yogurt yesterday at menchies. I prefer tutti frutti! Long weekend, with a lot of he work. Fascinating. Can't wait.

Copyright Assignment

1) Using creative work responsibility: I think to use someone else's creative work responsibly is to just be smart about it. If its not yours, don't take credit for it. How would you feel if someone took something you created and were very proud of and claimed it as their own? Its just not fair. To use someone's creative work responsibly is to give them the credit they deserve and to ask for permission. When using someone's work you should gather information such as who's work it is. I also think it is responsible to not alter or change the work in any way, I personally think that defeats the purpose of the original creators work. How and where you use it should be checked over by the creator. I think it is common sense to not use work on websites or projects that are inappropriate. I would not appreciate it if my work was used somewhere I did not agree with. Overall, common sense and respect is important. Do not deform the original work and treat it with respect, people put effort and time into their work.

2) How you can manage copyright: I think that if I posted my creations online I would be very protective over them. I would definitely use Copyright. Almost 100% of the time I am very proud and happy with the work I have created and I would be very angry if someone claimed it as their own. I would prefer if someone contacted me and asked me for permission and gave me details of where and when my work will be used. I  personally just want to keep track of who has my work and why they want to use it. On the other hand, some of my work could be used under Fair Use. Depending on what the work is, I would greatly allow it to be used for school purposes. Overall, I do not think that people need to pay me to use my work, but I at least would appreciate some credit for my hard work.

Week 3ish? But 4!

Week 3 was our winter break! I spent that break soaking up the sun in puerto Vallarta Mexico :) I wanna go back .. Anyways, week 4! This week has been busy with nothing. We worked on our certificates and Juno award posters. I completed my certificate on Tuesday and also finished my write up. I chose to do the certificate I designed because I am very into nature and helping the earth and the paint splatter leaves represents my love for art! Finally, on Wednesday and Thursday I created my Juno poster, personally I am proud of it and really like if. It represents saskatchewan with the green and yellow but it's also interesting like an award show should be. I like it. :) I'm also happy that I discovered how to rotate brushes, never knew that was actually possible! :)

Week 2!

Week 2:
Well, this week I finished my DVD cover, that took me Monday and tuesday to finish. Wednesday I added a few touch ups and moved on to my certificate. So far so good, I'm liking my idea and I feel good about it. I'm just trying to figure out how I am going to draw in the trunk, I probably should have done that before the actual branches. On Wednesday we learnt about the iPads and some assignments we're going to be doing on them. I enjoy using the iPads, not so thrilled about the copyright assignments. Got to be honest, right? Well on Thursday I worked on my certificate again, got some good progress in. It's been a simple 4 day week for me. Now for Friday, the big take off day. Flying to Mexico in the early morning, I'm scared yet very excited. It'll definitely be a new experience!

Week 1.5!

Week 1.5:  Well, this has been my official first week in communication media 20. So far it's been interesting and I have a feeling it's going to be a fast pace learning environment full of challenges. This week we have started to work on our hall pass, DVD cover and certificate contest entry. Hall pass = done. DVD = half way there-ish. Certificate = not started. I'll get them done. I'm usually very efficient, I'm just a bit of a perfectionist. I like to take my time when it comes to art and/or designing. Other than that we went on over to the room with all the fancy gadgets. Computers, sound boards, cameras, green screens .. So much stuff. Being in front of the camera is definitely not my thing. Personally, I find being behind the scenes more educational, you get to learn all the work that's put into a production. Plus, I really don't find interest in having hundreds of people watching me. I've been on the radio before, hosted my own show. But they couldn't see me.. That's totally different. 

That's this week in a nutshell. Hopefully next week I'll be able to get a lot done before I head off to Mexico!

Welcome to Communication Media 20/30! 

I joined this class late, but so far I am catching up. I finished my hall pass and now I am working on my DVD cover! So far so good. :) 

I took this class to fill up my period 2 spare but I should have taken it to begin with. I love working with Photoshop.
